At Greenlands we are passionate about promoting physical education. We believe a high quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activiites.
We provide a broad balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of the National Curriculum and provide pupils with appropriate challenge and acceptable risk. We focus on our school values with a key focus on resilience and perseverance.
Our whole curriculum is designed to promote physical learning. We are committed to promoting one hour of physical activity per day at home and school. We do this through our multi skills provision, engaging lunch time activities and holiday clubs.
There are weekly swimming lessons for children in year 5. Goggles may only be worn for swimming if there is a medical problem and with a doctor's note. Children will only be excused from P.E. if there are sound medical reasons, in which case we require reasons in writing signed by the parent or guardian.
Please ensure that your child has appropriate sportswear and footwear for P.E. Children must wear black or green shorts and white teeshirts. Please refrain from wearing earrings on PE days. For indoor work children work in pumps or bare feet but pumps or trainers are needed for outdoor lessons –please refer to the School Uniform section.
